This book is the second volume in a revision of Fair, Geyer, and Okuns Water and Wastewater Engineering books. Its focus is on drinking water supply and treatment. Consequently, it devotes more depth to discussing water quality, quantity and pressure issues, problems related to emerging contaminants, water supply infrastructure, water treatment processes and water system selection. The book deals with different infrastructural components of municipal water systems, such as collection, purification, transmission, and distribution works. It also discusses the ways in which these systems and treatments supplement one another to produce an adequate water supply, pressure, and purification standard that meets the needs of the population.
