Introduction to Proteomics gives a concise and coherent overview of every aspect of current proteomics technology. It provides students with sufficient theoretical background to be able to plan, prepare and analyse a proteomics study. The book is divided into five sections: Introduction; Separation Technologies; Analysis of Peptides/Proteins by Mass Spectrometry; and Strategies in Proteomics. As well as covering all aspects of the subject, it will include numerous examples, and explanations for why particular strategies are better than others for certain applications. In addition the book will include extensive references and a list of relevant proteomics information sources. By presenting a coherent overview, rather than detailed protocols, Introduction to Proteomics will provide students with: a sound understanding of the subject, an awareness of its strengths and limitations, the ability to assess the viability for various applications.
